Katrina Shangreaux, 30, told cops she had hit toddler Kylen multiple times, including with a belt, after he wet the bed
Two-year-old Kylen Shangreaux was beaten to death by his mother after giving her a 'sideways look'
She said she initially got angry with the boy after discovering he had wet the bed and then gave her a "sideways look," the Rapid City Journal reported.
The mum also claimed he called her "Angie" - the name of his aunt who had cared for him before Shangreaux won a custody battle in June 2016 - a month before his death.
Shangreaux submitted a plea agreement on Monday and provided a written statement in which she admitted drinking alcohol and taking pain medication before fatally attacking her own son.
She said she only stopped beating him when she "saw that he appeared different and realized how badly she had injured him," according to the statement.
Katrina Shangreaux, 30, of Porcupine, South Dakota, admitted attacking her own son
After the attack, she called her mother Sonya Dubray who tried to get Kylen to drink some apple juice but he collapsed and soiled himself.
The pair are said to have cleaned up the blood and faeces from the boy and the house before calling for help.
The boy was taken to hospital but he was already dead by the time he arrived on July 28, 2016.
He had suffered a fractured skull and torn scrotum, while doctors also discovered he was covered in bite marks and there were new and old bruises on 70 per cent of his skin.
A post-mortem examination found Kylen's cause of death was blunt force trauma and the bruising may have contributed to his death because the blood pooling at the bruises may have deprived his organs of sufficient blood.
Prosecutors say Shangreaux faces life in prison after indicating she will admit second degree murder.
Sean Cole, 29, and Khadeijah Moore, 21, face life in behind bars after being found guilty of the despicable crimes in, Alabama
Sean Cole, 29, forced his son to perform sex acts on his girlfriend to 'straighten him out' after finding him in a 'compromising position' with another boy
he 11-year-old, who lives with his mum in Georgia, had been visiting his father for Thanksgiving in 2016, when the sexual assault took place.
The court heard Cole found his son in what he considered a ‘compromising position’ with another boy and became angry.
In response, he made Moore have sex with the boy.
Cole then told him to carry a sex act out on Moore.
Prosecutor Tim Douthit told AL.com: “It was solely that he was worried that his son was gay, or might become gay.
“There was no evidence he had a sexual attraction to his son or children.
“He just thought he could, for lack of better words, ‘straighten him out’.”
The boy’s mum became concerned when the boy returned to Georgia and began asking questions about sex.
He eventually he told her what had happened and she drove immediately to Huntsville to contact local police.
The couple were arrested in January 2017.
Douthit said that when a forensic interviewer asked the boy about the rape, the boy said he thought at the time: “Why is my dad doing this to me?”
The boy told the interviewer: “Dad said to tell no one. I failed him. I just told you.”
Duouthit added: “The most terrible part of this is the little boy still doesn’t understand it’s not his fault. He still thinks he’s the bad guy. It’s heartbreaking.”
Cole and Moore were each convicted on Tuesday of rape, sodomy and the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. They are due to be sentenced on May 24.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious but officers would like to establish their movements that evening.

#BBNaija's Ceec's sister, has tendered an apology on her behalf over the snide remark she made about her payporte dress right before she ripped the traditional attire and turned it into a crop top.
CeeC's sister is of the opinion that the housemates might not know their task of modelling these attires for the brands that make them. Read her apology which she posted on Cee C's IG page below
Since last night it has been all tension following the readjustments Cee-C made to the clothe given to her. . It has also been a tough decision to make on what step I should take knowing that this incidence occurred inside the House and Cee-C is not here to speak for herself. But nonetheless I will make a statement on the capacity of her sister. . I want to apologize for the rather unnecessary statement that Cee-C made about the attire given to her by @payporte. . I'm not there with them as all of us here. But from previous happenings, it may seem that the housemates are not adequately informed about their task of modelling these attires for the brands that make them. I guess this is why some of the housemates go ahead to make amendments to them. . It would be more effective if @payporte were to communicate their displeasure to the housemate through their usual communication medium so that Cee-C would make an apology of her own which would be seen as more authentic, genuine and personal than what I have shared here.

the winner."
