Arsenal hang on to a scrappy win against norwich, thanks to substitute welbeck's goal

ARSENAL  1::0  NORWICH

Arsene Wenger
This was Arsene Wenger's 750th Premier League match as a manager - only Sir Alex Ferguson (810) has managed more

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had to endure calls for his departure as his side beat a Norwich team whose Premier League future looks increasingly bleak.
Fans protested inside and outside the Emirates Stadium, voicing frustrations at their team's failure to mount a title challenge in recent years.
There was little for Arsenal to cheer until substitute Danny Welbeck put the Gunners ahead with a crisp half-volley.
Norwich had chances - twice Petr Cech stopped Nathan Redmond from scoring.
But for all their endeavour, Norwich left north London with nothing and with Newcastle beating Crystal Palace and Sunderland securing a draw against Stoke earlier in the day, their hopes of climbing out of the relegation zone looks increasingly precarious.
They are now second from bottom with three games remaining and two points adrift of Newcastle, who moved out of the bottom three thanks to their win over Palace.

Wigan back in championship after a year absence

BLACKPOOL 0::4 WIGAN

Wigan Athletic secured promotion straight back to the Championship with a win at struggling Blackpool that edged the Seasiders closer to the drop.
After a goalless first half, Wigan went ahead through Chris McCann, who then turned provider for Yanic Wildschut to double the Latics' lead on the counter.
Wildschut then slotted in the third before Will Grigg headed in a fourth.
Blackpool remain two points adrift with one match to play and will be relegated if Fleetwood win at Walsall on Monday.
Wigan, who have lost just once since being beaten at home by Blackpool on 12 December, are now also all-but champions, having a significantly superior goal difference to second-placed Burton Albion.
Blackpool, who were relegated from the Premier League in 2011 on a final day that saw Wigan extend their stay in the top flight, are now staring at the fourth tier of English football.
The hosts must now beat Peterborough away on the final day to have any hope of avoiding a second successive relegation.
The home fans protested against the club's owners before kick-off and it was the 3,000 travelling Wigan fans who left Bloomfield Road in celebration.
The Latics, who like Blackpool suffered relegation from the Championship one year ago, have won six of their last eight games to ensure their immediate return to the second tier.

Bayern frustrated by Borussia Monchengladbach

BAYERN MUNICH  1 ::  1 Borussia Monchengladbach

Thomas Muller goal
Serdar Tasci (grounded) initially claimed Bayern's goal but didn't get a touch to Thomas Muller's header from a sixth-minute corner

Bayern Munich must wait to secure a record fourth successive Bundesliga title after being held to a 1-1 draw by Borussia Monchengladbach.
A win would have made Bayern champions for the 26th time but that was denied them by Andre Hahn's equaliser, driven low into the net 18 minutes from time.
Thomas Muller headed Bayern in front with a 20th league goal of the season.
Borussia Dortmund beat Wolfsburg 5-1 to move five points behind Bayern with two games left.
Bayern Munich crowdBayern face a local derby at Ingolstadt next weekend before playing Hannover at home in their final game.
Bayern coach Pep Guardiola made eight changes to the side that lost 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final to Atletico Madrid with the home leg to come next Tuesday.
One of those was the return of Muller. Bayern had won 51 consecutive league games in which the Germany international has scored but Hahn's fifth goal of the season ended that run.
Bayern face Dortmund in the German Cup final on 21 May as they look to complete a treble under Guardiola before his summer move to Manchester City.
Gladbach ended a run of four successive away defeats to enhance their chances of qualifying for the Champions League as they moved above Hertha Berlin - who play at Bayer Leverkusen later on Saturday (17:30 BST) - into fourth place on goal difference.

EFCC Arrests Nnamdi Okonkwo For Receiving Diezani’s $115m

5

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, and some officials for allegedly receiving $115m from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The EFCC also arrested the bank’s Head of Operations, Mr. Martins Izuogbe, for his role in the alleged scam, which the anti-graft agency described as unprecedented.
A reliable source in the commission on Wednesday told our correspondent on condition of anonymity that during the build-up to the 2015 presidential election, Diezani invited Okonkwo to help her handle some cash, which would be disbursed to electoral officials and groups.
The source disclosed that the fraud was uncovered when the EFCC began investigations into how officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom states received N675.1m.
The detective said, “The MD of Fidelity Bank has been arrested and is currently in our custody. During investigations into the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioners, we got a major breakthrough as funds disbursed were traced to Fidelity Bank.
“We invited the MD, who then confessed to us that during the build-up to the presidential election, Diezani invited him to a meeting in Abuja. Diezani told him that some companies would deposit some funds in his bank and that she would give him further instructions on how the funds would be disbursed.
“The first company, Auctus Integrated, deposited $17,884,000 into the bank. The second company, Northern Belt Gas Company, deposited $60m while another company, Midwestern Oil and Gas, deposited $9.5m. A fourth company, Leno Laitan Adesanya, deposited $1.85m while the MD himself received $26m in cash.”
The source alleged that Diezani’s son, Ugonna Madueke, later served as a middleman between the former minister and the MD of the bank.
He said it was Diezani’s son who forwarded the names of the beneficiaries of the funds, which included INEC officials and several interest groups as well as election monitors, who were expected to compromise the electoral process.
He said, “The MD said it was Diezani’s son that sent him a list of beneficiaries which included several INEC officials and election monitors across the 36 states. Diezani specifically instructed that the funds be disbursed at least a day or two before the elections. The total amount of money was $115m and Diezani told the bank to convert the funds into naira, which was about N23.3bn at the time.
“However, the suspects told us that the volume of money was too big and they had problems converting the funds. So, Diezani told the bank MD to use the bank’s funds and hold on to the dollars as collateral and that after elections, the bank could use the dollars to replace the bank funds.”
The source stated that Diezani did not operate any account with the bank and wondered why Okonkwo would allow himself to be used in such a manner.
“He may be charged with conspiracy once we are done with investigations,” the source said. The PUNCH had reported that a wristwatch worth £600,000 was seized from Diezani during a raid on one of her houses.
The ex-minister, who is currently battling cancer, was last year arrested by the National Crimes Agency in the United Kingdom for sundry allegations.
Under her watch as one of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s most powerful ministers, dubious oil marketers stole trillions of naira of oil subsidy money.
The then Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (now the Emir of Kano), alleged that $20bn was missing from the account of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, an allegation which led to his suspension and replacement.
She had, however, denied all allegations of corruption levelled against her. The family lawyer, Oscar Onwudiwe, who had, in a statement, denied allegations against the former minister, said, “The Madueke family, like most other families, has its own challenges. For instance, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke has been receiving treatment for cancer in the UK.”
All attempts to speak with the spokesperson for Fidelity Bank, Mr. Ejike Ndiulo, proved abortive as his telephone indicated that it was switched off.
However, a senior official of the bank, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said the bank would issue a statement on Thursday (today).
“We don’t have all the facts of the case yet. However, we will issue a statement on the matter on Thursday,” he said.

PRINCE SISTER STORMS OUT OF FAMILY MEETING as Money Fight Looms

0428-prince-tyka-getty-ap-01

It didn't take long ... Prince's sister Tyka went ballistic in the first meeting with the singer's siblings and marched out of the room ... and we're told it's already becoming a money squabble.
Sources with first-hand knowledge tell TMZ, the meeting was held Thursday in Minnesota. Tyka, Prince's younger sister, was present, along with brothers Alfred and Omarr
We're told the meeting was tense, and 2 hours in Alfred expressed his displeasure that he was the only sibling excluded from Prince's memorial service, which Tyka planned. We're told an argument erupted and she stormed out of the room.
We're also told the brothers have a clear impression from the meeting ... Tyka thinks she's entitled to more than them when it comes time to divide Prince's assets. As we reported, under Minnesota law all 6 siblings -- irrespective of whether they're half or full -- share equally, but apparently Tyka doesn't see it that way.
Our sources say after Tyka left, a rep from the bank that was appointed as the administrator took Alfred on a tour of Prince's home and the area where he died "so he could properly grieve."

Music legend Prince 'treated for drug overdose' days before he was found slumped in lift at home

PRINCE 2
Prince has been found dead at his US mansion his publicist confirmed today. The multi talented performer had recently been suffering with illness.

The singer had in fact been given a "save shot", a treatment normally administered for opiate overdoses

PRINCE was treated for a drug overdose six days before he died, sources revealed.
The singer, whose plane was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday, was found slumped in an elevator at his home before he died, cops revealed.
It was previously thought that he had been treated for a bout of flu in Moline, Illinois, despite the landing site being just 48 minutes from his Paisley Park mansion.
Multiple sources said the singer had in fact been given a "save shot", a treatment normally administered for opiate overdoses.
They added that Prince was told to remain at the hospital for 24 hours, as he "was not doing well".
Authorities are understood to be seeking Prince's medical records as they continue their investigations into the death.
Prince's representatives were unavailable for comment.
When Prince's entourage found that there was no private room available, the singer checked out just 3 hours after arriving at hospital, according to TMZ.
The music icon was just 57 when his shocking death rocked the world, as the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday.
Sheriff’s deputies from Carver County responded to a medical call at the singer's mansion at 9.43am US time.
A statement from the sheriff’s office said: “When deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator.
“First responders attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive the victim.
“He was pronounced deceased at 10.07am. He has been identified as Prince Rogers Nelson.
“The Carver County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.”
The seven-time Grammy winner – responsible for generation-defining hits including Purple Rain, 1999 and When Doves Cry – died at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota after claims he had suffered a bad case of flu for weeks.
But there were rumours of long-standing health problems, which had caused him to suffer breathing difficulties, with suggestions the former Jehovah Witness may have refused some treatment on religious grounds.
His spokeswoman said she was unaware of him suffering from any illness “further to the flu he had last week”.
Tonight his home was on "on lockdown" as police probed the death of the pop icon.
Staff were kept in his Paisley Park mansion while sheriffs and detectives work on statements.
Senior officials at the Minnesota police have vowed to conduct a "thorough investigation" as "eyes of the world are watching" to clarify a cause of death.
Insiders said they thought Prince had been suffering from pneumonia.
While publicly the Carver County Sheriff's Office said initially there are no signs of foul play, local detectives are taking comprehensive statements.
A source said: "The police have the house on lockdown. They are keeping the staff there and speaking to each and every person taking full statements.
"They are telling them they cannot leave.
"The forensic team are carefully examining the elevator, his bedroom and studio. The police are not planning on saying too much about their case yet, but nothing is being ruled in or out.
“Word has come from on high that as the eyes of the world are looking at this case, they musn't miss a beat.”
Prince appeared to predict his own shocking demise on Saturday night, telling fans at a concert: “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.”
He made his last ever public appearance at his vast Paisley Park compound, where he was found dead, to combat rumours he was close to death after a mid-air emergency the day before say his plane forced to land.
There were rumours of a long-standing health problem, which had caused him to suffer breathing difficulties, with suggestions the former Jehovah Witness may have refused some treatment on religious grounds.
He turned up at an After Dark gig within his Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota just before midnight to make the pronouncement but did not sing.
One fan there on the night said: “He came out and he spoke to us about what happened and it was very cool, I felt like we were his family as there was only 200 of us there.
“He was very laid back. He said he was okay and said don’t waste your prayers on me right now, just wait a few days but there was something weird about it.”
Prince appeared upbeat after the appearance, making a number of posts on his Twitter page including writing: “2 GIVE THANX 4 THE GOOD WEATHER AND 4 ALL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT.”
He posted 22 times this month before his death, including six times at the weekend.
His last tweet was on Monday where he posted a link to website The Electric Fetus, a record shop in Minnesota.
Professor of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center Dr Marc Siegel said: “He could of had a seizure because of his known childhood problem with epilepsy.”
And a music promoter friend of Prince, who did not want to be named, said: “We are all shocked by this.
“Everyone thought that Prince simply had the flu very badly outside of his inner circle, but it was much worse.
“He had been complaining of being breathless and totally fatigued, and was meant to be on bed rest.
“He was suffering from extreme exhaustion and totally run down.
“He had a very weird reaction after the Atlanta shows passing out on the plane. Everyone was worried, and that is why they took him to hospital.
“I was told they put him on an IV and urged him to take bed rest, focusing on hydrating and eating well.
“Prince was happiest at his home and so that is why he wanted to go back there and recover.
“Paisley Park was his escape from the world and place where he did his favourite activity, which was to create music.
“Everyone just thought he would recover and get back to work, simply because he was just that kind of guy.
“He was a man who pushed himself to the edge of exhaustion every day in his career simply to make sure his shows were great.
“From what we are told he was still the perfect performer in the limelight, but privately the last few days he has been a shadow of that person.
“We were always worried about his weight and frame. He was a small guy, but we always felt that he never ate enough for a man who burned so much energy.
“I know in his last few days that there was concern about his gauntness.”
Fears for the icon’s health had also been sparked by his decision to suddenly cancel tickets for the UK leg of his Spotlight: Piano & Microphone Tour just 15 minutes before there were due on sale, on November 13, apparently due to ticket touts.
The tour, which included dates in London, Glasgow and Birmingham, was postponed three days later, with the official reason being the Paris terrorist attacks.
Prince had also appeared to become more aware of his legacy over the last two years and was writing a highly personal memoir called The Beautiful Ones, which could now tell his story in full for the first time if its planned publication goes ahead next year.
A music source revealed: “For many years he didn’t care about his past, he didn’t care about what anyone thought of him.
“But that had changed. He cared passionately about his book – he wanted it to be the full authoritative story of his life.
“Now, if he was able to complete it, his own words will take on so much greater meaning.”

Prince, who refused to go by the name Prince for much of the Nineties due to a battle with Warner Music, simply using a symbol instead, grew up a Christian but became a Jehovah’s Witness in 2001.
He embraced the religion in a big way, even admitting knocking on random doors to hand out Watchtower magazine and preach his faith.
It is claimed his beliefs prevented him from having surgery, despite doctors advising him to have a double hip replacement to combat damage caused by years of walking around on platforms shoes.
He was forced to walk out on stage using a cane during one of his last high profile appearances at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Before his death he switched back to Christianity, preaching about the virtues of a moral life, a huge contrast to his previous lyrics.
PRINCE-VFVF
The multi talented star was known for playing several different instruments during his live shows
Friends said it was appropriate he died at Paisley Park, a 55,000-square-foot studio complex he completed in 1985 after becoming a multi-millionaire just seven years after releasing his first album.
A pal said: “He loved it there. It is where he would have wanted to say goodbye.”
Prince Rogers Nelson signed his first music management deal aged 17 before going on to a glittering career spanning almost 40 years.
He was born in Minneapolis 1958 to parents Mattie Della and John Lewis Nelson, both of whom were jazz performers.
He wrote his first song Funk Machine aged seven and had his heart set on a career in music by the time he was a teenager.
Aged just 20, he released his first studio album For You in 1978 and continued to put out an album almost every year afterwards.
But as well as his huge catalogue of hits, he made forays into acting, leading the rock musical of the same name as his single and album, Purple Rain, in 1984.

But he wasn’t only known for his music, with his turbulent personal life often taking centre stage.
He was romantically linked to singer Madonna, actress Kim Basinger and glamour model Carmen Electra over the years.
However, his personal life was marred with tragedy, with his only son dying just a week after being born.
He married his back-up singer and dancer Mayte Garcia in 1996 and she gave birth to their son Boy Gregory in October that same year.
Shortly after being born he was diagnosed with Pfeiffer syndrome and passed away days later.
The couple divorced in 1999, but he married Manuela Testolini two years later after meeting her while doing charity work.
But the Canadian businesswoman was 19 years his junior and he struggled to keep their relationship afloat. They divorced amicably in 2006 but he never remarried.

Family dog mauls 3-day-old baby to death 'after the mum startled it with a cough'

Pitbull
Family pitbull mauled the 3-day-old boy to death

A 3-day-old boy was mauled to death by the family dog while they were in bed with the child’s parents, police said Friday.
The parents were in bed watching TV with their newborn son and dog Thursday night when the mother coughed. The coughing startled the dog and it unexpectedly bit the baby, Sgt. Tu Nguyen said.
He said the parents pulled the animal off and took their only child to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“At this time, we’re looking at this as nothing more than a tragic incident,” said Nguyen, a member of the child abuse unit.
An autopsy is underway to determine the cause of death.
Animal control officers took the 2-year-old dog, a neutered male American Staffordshire terrier-mix named Polo, into custody, said Dan DeSousa, deputy director of the county Department of Animal Services. The dog will be held in quarantine for 10 days to determine whether it has rabies.
It will be up to the owners to decide whether to reclaim the dog, DeSousa said.

Young Lady Beaten and stripped by Woman for Sleeping With Her Husband

LOVE 1

This beautiful young lady in white towel was brutalized and stripped n*ked after news of her alleged affair with her married boss leaked to the man’s wife, who is known to be a “fighter” by her friends.
The lady, identified as Sandra Chibanda, was stripped, splashed with opaque beer and bashed by her boss’ wife identified as Mai Jerry. She teamed up with her three friends and stormed Sandra’s workplace after she learnt of the lady’s affair with her husband.
According to Hmetro, the women arrived, armed with a pair of scissors and two bottles of opaque beer and intruded into the company’s kitchen where Sandra works and gave the workers free drama as they descended upon the young lady splashing different substances on her.
In the wife’s bid to retrieve messages between Sandra and her husband, Gerald Nyamunetsi, the lady’s phone was smashed after she refused to divulge her password.Funny enough, when the beatings became unbearable, Sandra confessed that she was dating Gerald.
“Please forgive me, l will break up with him. I do not know what got into me. I know you but I could not resist, we have been dating for a year now,” she pleaded.
It emerged that Sandra was helped by Mai Jerry’s mother to get the job as a cook at MVI Coaches and that her husband Gerald had even built a house for Sandra’s mother in Seke, Zimbabwe.
The wife screamed: “Was it not my mother who helped you secure a job here? And this is how you pay her by bedding her daughter’s husband, you made me bake cakes for your children using my husband’s money, making me appear like a fool.
“Today l want to teach you a lesson, l want all the things that my husband bought for you.”
Workers in the company had to rescue Sandra after their Oga’s wife had stripped her…
