Arsenal sign perez from deportivo


Arsenal have completed the deal to sign spanish striker lucas perez from deportivo la coruna , as announced by the english giants on tuesday.

The club did not disclose either the length of perez contract or the transfer fee, but english media said the 27yr old  had cost around 17million pounds ($23.3million, 20million euros)

Arsenal are also on the verge of completing germany defender shkodran mustafi's deal for a fee  reportedly worth 35million pounds.

Describing Perez , Arsenal manager Arsene wenger told the club's website: "He's not only a goal scorer he's also a guy who combines well with partners,who can give a final ball and make good runs".

"He's got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year".

Arsenal are reported to have seen off interest from premier league rivals Everton to secure perez's signature.

Perez who is uncapped, scored 19 goals last season for Deportivo, including 17 in la liga.

He also scored the winning goal in their 2-1 win against eibar on the opening day of this season.

Perez will join swiss international Granit xhaka, Japanese forward Takuma Asano and english centre back rob holding in arriving at the emirate stadium this mid-year transfer window.
